Why HCN?In January of 2023, after operating 48 years as The Bank of Hemet, the Board of Directors voted to change our name to HCN Bank. This was not an easy decision. Our roots, history, and heritage are found in Hemet and San Jacinto, where our founders lived, worked, and had the vision to start a bank that focused on serving the entire San Jacinto Valley. The bank became very involved in the local school district, the hospital and medical community, and many non-profit organizations, oftentimes personally serving as either trustees or directors. This local focus followed with the expansion of our retail banking network throughout the Inland Empire, with branches in Riverside, Anza, and Beaumont, and continued with our expansion into the entire state of California, especially in commercial real estate lending. Over the last 20-plus years, this lending platform has evolved nationwide; today we have loans in over 40 states. Simultaneously, with online banking and our specialty in businesses banking, we are no longer limiting our market area to a particular city, county, or state; we presently have depositors in all 50 states. For this reason, we believed having a city’s name in the bank title restricted our ability to leverage a much larger client base, which is literally nationwide. Why HCN? As we considered a number of different name changes, the one requirement we were adamant about was to start the title with the letter “H”, which represents Hemet and the entire San Jacinto Valley, since this area played such a pivotal role throughout our history. We are still very involved in the Valley, and this will continue for years to come. The letter “C” stands for California, as this represents the early years of our growth in providing financial services to clients throughout the entire state. This is followed by “N” for Nationwide, which we now consider our limitless marketplace. Irrespective of our nationwide presence, please know that we will always be a community-based bank that is committed to serving the San Jacinto Valley and the surrounding communities where our branches are located. |
